Yesterday evening, the awards ceremony took place, where the winners in the contest categories were announced. The Omatapalo Group was nominated for two categories: Non-Financial Sector Company of the Year and Omatapalo was awarded the 9th edition of the SIRIUS LUANDA Awards in the entrepreneurship category for the recognition of Agri-Mumba, Ltd.
Fazenda Mumba, located in the Kuvango Municipality, in the Huila Province, near the border of Cuando Cubango, operates on approximately 20,000 hectares of land. It has 450 kilometers of fences and corrals, 8,000 heads of cattle, plantations of corn, sorghum, soybeans, potatoes, sunflower, wheat, and beans. It has 10 pivots, each covering 54 hectares, a silo and drying complex with a storage capacity of 8,000 tons of grain, enabling the production of 24,000 tons of cereals at full capacity.
Additionally, it has 360 kilometers of tracks, 4 earth-fill dams with a 7-kilometer canal, and warehouses and equipment workshops. Currently, it employs approximately 400 workers and has a living base for 250 people.
