On Saturday (17), OMATAPALO delivered children’s books to Lar Kuzola in Luanda and Lar Paula Frassineti in Benguela, as part of its social responsibility program entitled Missão Fazer Sorrir, following an internal collection campaign among OMATAPALO employees and Group subsidiaries who donated new and used books.

The aim of the initiative is to promote access to and the habit of reading from an early age, to provide moments of learning and fun for children, in commemoration of International Book Donation Day, marked on February 14th.

This action will continue next Saturday (24) in Lubango, Huíla province, at the Tchivinguiro Mission reception center.

The books being delivered benefit children aged between 6 and 17 from the Lar Kuzola institutions in Luanda, with over 200 children, the Tchivinguiro Mission in the city of Lubango and Paula Frassineti in Benguela, both of which have 120 children each.

“We believe that education and access to literature are fundamental for children’s development. With this campaign, we want to encourage reading from an early age and contribute to children’s well-being and learning. The OMATAPALO Group reiterates its commitment to social responsibility and is committed to promoting initiatives that have a positive impact on the communities where we operate,” said Yara Custódio, spokesperson for the OMATAPALO Group.

To consolidate this action, the employees of the Group’s life bases prepared a snack for the children, with moments of reading stories, once again bringing a smile to the faces of hundreds of children in the reception centers.

Missão Fazer Sorrir has been providing food, educational, housing, health and recreational support to thousands of beneficiaries all over the country, fulfilling one of the Group’s aims since its inception: Social Responsibility begins at home.
