Sustainability and
Social Responsibility
at OMATAPALO
“For us, social responsibility begins in our own home and the conditions we provide for our employees. It is within this framework and philosophy that our ability to make things happen is based.”
Omatapalo Group
Global Sustainable Development Goals at OMATAPALO
In a country where poverty and inequality exist, OMATAPALO considers social responsibility to be of utmost importance. The company’s contribution to improving the quality of life for individuals and communities is achieved through the promotion and support of social initiatives in the areas of charity and social solidarity.
In this sense, OMATAPALO embraces 4 of the 17 objectives set by the UN in the 2030 Agenda, as vectors for its active participation in economic, social and environmental perspectives.
SOS LUBANGO CHILDREN’S VILLAGE
OMATAPALO sponsors several houses in the Village, with a total of dozens of individuals, contributing a monthly income to support these children in maintaining their smiles and strengthening the teaching and learning process, as well as the psychoemotional development of this group.
PARISH OF OUR Nª SRª MUXIMA DO TOCO
The Parish of Mama Muxima do Toco has existed since March 2012 and is the newest parish of the Archdiocese of Lubango, located in the Hoque commune in the Municipality of Lubango. With a population of 20,000, it survives with the help of entrepreneurs, individuals, and the Angolan government. OMATAPALO has been contributing to this project since its inception, with the construction of primary and secondary schools, two well-equipped hospitals, a community kitchen, a youth vocational training center, a library, the construction of a home for a physically disabled child, a residence for missionary sisters, a residence for resident doctors, and various other forms of support.

SOLIDARY SOUP CAMPAIGN
OMATAPALO provides the necessary ingredients for the preparation of over 1,000 daily soups and the distribution of several thousand breads in various locations in Luanda, namely: downtown Luanda, Talatona, Viana, Zango, and Cacuaco. To date, over 500,000 soups and breads have been distributed. This initiative started in December 2021 and is still ongoing.
DROUGHT SUPPORT
The drought has affected the population of Huíla and Cunene, and OMATAPALO could not remain indifferent to this plight. Over ten tons of food items have been donated to more than 220,000 families to assist the families affected by the drought who were unable to plant their own food.
WATER DISTRIBUTION SUPPORT
Potable water is one of the many ways we have found to stand by the community. Distribution of potable water to over 200,000 families divided among four provinces: Luanda, Huambo, Namibe, and Lubango.
SCHOOL SNACK PROJECT – MUMBA FARM

SMILE SCHOOL PROJECT
Education and training are essential for the growth of Angolan children and the development of the country. However, many schools in the country lack the necessary conditions for their education. OMATAPALO, aware of this need, contributes annually to the start of the academic year by donating desks and chairs, along with school supplies, to equip schools for several thousand children.
